Latest News June 23

Release of Book 9 RESCUE has been secured. It’s a further collection of short stories, on contemporary crime fiction, set in the UK.

It is already available on Amazon and I hope to be present at local craft fayres and events during the year.

Chris Boult. Rescue, a further collection of short stories.

This is a further collection of short stories, more directly focused on crime than my last book. The stories are intended to run at a fast pace, to be interesting and stimulating and of course contain elements of the unexpected.

They cover a range of topics, including; challenging situations, politics, theft, fraud, foreign prisoners and consideration for the victims of crime. They are all set in the contemporary era in the UK.

Best wishes for 2023

All Christmas book talks and events for 2022 successfully went ahead, as planned, with good sales results. The final draft of book 9 RESCUE, is now with the publisher and I have asked if it will be realistic to have copies ready for sale at the Uttoxeter craft market on Sat Feb 25th.

Thanks to all for your continued interest and support and best wishes for 2023.

My Books

As we approach Christmas, this is a busy time for book sales. I notice that average book prices have risen significantly recently and I haven’t actually put my prices since I started in 2013. So, I’ve added a modest increase of £1 across the board.

Current prices;

  • In the Shadow of the Bayonet £9
  • Out of the Shadow £10
  • Recovery £9
  • Green Terror £8
  • Identity £9
  • The Welsh Boys £9
  • An Island Life £9
  • Missing £11

Book talks attendance fee now £60.

These prices are still very competitive. An average paper back now can be as much as £12. If you’re buying online, do check what’s available, some of the big suppliers charge more that. Direct from me, all copies are signed and within the local area I’ll even bring them to you.

I’m excited to be publishing Book 9, RESCUE. I’ve drafted all nine stories and really enjoyed writing them. They are in the publishing process and I anticipate release in Spring 2023.

Future Opportunities to view and buy my books

Now that many local people have bought their first book in either the two ‘Shadow‘ books or the series of three based on the adventure of Emma and Rory culminating in ‘An Island Life‘, interest has been expressed in having access to buy those later books. Should you wish to do so local people are welcome to contact me by email on:

staffordauthor@gmail.com

and I can arrange to meet or deliver further books to you.  Alternatively I have booked to attend the following events over the next few months where you could have ready access to further personally signed copies.

I would also welcome your views on what you have read so far.

  • 23rd April Uttoxeter Indoor Craft Market
  • 20/21/21 May Stafford Lit fest, a range of literary events in the town centre over the whole weekend
  • 4th June Uttoxeter Racecourse event to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee
  • 6th June Book Talk to Cannock Probus Group
  • 25th June Eccleshall Street Market.

Book 8 MISSING is out

Book 8 MISSING a collection of ten short stories on contemporary issues is now available on Amazon or directly through me. This project has taken far longer than usual to come to fruition, with the impact of Covid-19 playing a part. It also contains some wider personal comment on criminal justice. As such it is a substantial volume priced at £10.
As always, comments on review formats, the website or direct to me are welcome. I hope you enjoy it.
