Chris Boult, Author

Chris served as an army officer before joining the probation service in 1986. He worked as a probation officer and manager in various posts across the county and in four of the local prisons. He specialised in multi- agency provision for managing high risk offenders. He retired from service in 2015 after a period of ill health.

Chris started writing crime fiction, based on his experience in 2013. He has since published nine books with a tenth due for release shortly.

Over the past twelve years Chris has attempted to bring his books to as wide an audience as possible.

These are some of his achievements over that time;

Regular speaker at local events on the experience of writing, publishing and marketing your own books, including talks to WI, Rotary, Lions and Probis groups, events at local libraries, The Sun Inn in Stafford, supported by Titanic Brewery, at the Repton crime writer’s festival and The Stafford Arts Festival.

He is a popular attendee at a variety of local craft fayres in the county, including at Stafford, Stone and Uttoxeter.

His books have been featured in different outlets across Staffordshire including independent book shops, coffee shops, Great Haywood boat yard, Jemma Atherton Acupuncture Clinic and Amerton Farm craft shop.

To date Chris has sold copies of his books locally, regionally, in other parts of the country and abroad. Chris still lives in Stafford with his family and is active in the community.

The Books

Stories are drawn from broad themes from his experience in the military and criminal justice. Chris also includes a range of contemplary issues, politics and international affairs in his writing.
